Although the National Alzheimer\u2019s Awareness month is in November, is never too early to start walking for a good cause and share important information that can help combat the threat that\u2019s affecting more than 5 millions of Americans.<\/p>\n

A good way to bring awareness is by encouraging people to know and share the following concepts which could help start slowing or preventing further brain damage in a person:<\/p>\n

Alzheimer\u2019s is usually detected at the end stage of the disease<\/strong>– Patients go undiagnosed and untreated for years.<\/p>\n

Memory loss is not normal at any stage<\/strong>– Aging is not an excuse to accept memory loss. Regardless of the cause for it, medical attention is necessary immediately.<\/p>\n

Alzheimer\u2019s drugs are effective<\/strong>– Early intervention allows patients to respond more vigorously to treatment due to healthier brains.<\/p>\n

Alzheimer\u2019s can be treated<\/strong>-\u201cNo Cure\u201d does not mean \u201cNo Treatment\u201d. Exercising, keeping a good diet, taking certain drugs are key to treat the disease.<\/p>\n

Being that a portion of our residents have Alzheimer, Guardian Pharmacy of SEFL<\/strong> will join Aston Gardens Senior Living on their 7th<\/sup> annual \u201cMini\u201d Memory Walk to raise money, support those with the disease and bring awareness to their loved ones.<\/p>\n
