David Morris
As Guardian Pharmacy Services co-founder and chief operating officer (COO), Morris leads the company’s operational functions using the financial discipline and strategic leadership he developed as executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) since 2004. A trusted member of the executive leadership team throughout Guardian’s history, he brings a deep understanding of the business, a disciplined financial approach, and strong, long-standing relationships with leaders across the organization. His expertise in financial strategy, risk management, and operational leadership has been critical to Guardian’s sustained growth.
Before stepping into the COO role in 2026, Morris oversaw the company’s treasury and accounting functions as well as IT, business development, human capital, purchasing, and legal—many of the core departments that Guardian’s national network of long-term care pharmacies leverages for ongoing support.
Prior to co-founding Guardian, Morris was CFO of Central Pharmacy Services Inc. (CPSI), joining shortly after inception to build the central support and financial structure necessary to serve the dispersed, autonomous business units in a rapid-growth entrepreneurial environment. Organizational units included accounting, information systems, human resources, M&A/business development, and administrative services.
Earlier in his career, Morris served as president of the Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) division of Complete Health. In this role, he established and operated Rx Management, a subsidiary PBM division of HMO Complete Health, which provided prescription drug management services to parent HMOs/PPOs and other Fortune 500 self-funded employer groups.
