Guardian Pharmacy’s Wendy Kallaher Featured at McKnight’s Women of Distinction Forum

Guardian Pharmacy Services was honored to attend this year’s McKnight’s Women of Distinction event in Chicago earlier in May.
Wendy Kallaher, RN, Senior Director of Account Management, was featured as a panelist during a discussion on advancing medication management—highlighting strategies to reduce risk, improve safety, and avoid breakdowns in resident care.
Drawing on her extensive experience working with senior living communities, Kallaher emphasized the operational risks caused by fragmented pharmacy services and shared real-world examples of how disjointed medication management can lead to errors, hospitalizations, and increased staff burden.
“When multiple pharmacies are involved in a resident’s care, it creates gaps in communication and accountability that can lead to serious consequences,” said Kallaher. “Reducing pharmacy fragmentation is one of the most important steps communities can take to protect residents and improve clinical, operational, and financial outcomes.”
The panel, moderated by Lois Bowers, Editor, McKnight’s Senior Living, included senior care leaders from across the country: Taylor Slaughter, Administrator at Quail Ridge Living Center; Sherri Easton-Garrett, SVP of Clinical Operations at Belmont Village Senior Living; DeeAndra Sandgren, Chief Nursing Officer at the Good Samaritan Society; and Trisha Atkinson, Program Administrator and Clinical Director at Milwaukee Catholic Home, Trinity Senior Services.
